MONTHLY BOARD MEETING – September 21, 2023

Chair Laura Rusk called the Board of Supervisors meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.; present were Laura Rusk, Jim Dier, Dennis Clagett & Patty Swaffield.

The August 9, 2023 Monthly Board Meeting and August 22 and September 7, 2023 Special Meetings minutes were reviewed; no changes were heard; minutes approved.

Treasures report was reviewed; no changes were heard; Treasurers report approved.

ROAD REPORT:  Gary graded all gravel roads; finished working on mower; started mowing all ditches back to tree line and cut more leaning trees; started working on Clerk’s office to remove decaying mice.  Gary placed a car counter on River Road for 7 days for a road grant.  The count was 3,362 which is daily average of 480.

Jay Kozlowski from Sawyer County Zoning sent an email asking each Municipality to designate a Town Official to attend the next Sawyer County Zoning Committee meeting on Friday, October 20, 2023 to discus the MULTI-DWELLING DEVELOPMENT ORDINACNE AMENDMENT PROCESS.  The discussion is to determine what constitutes a resort.  Currently property owners cannot put 2 dwelling on a single lot.

MOTION: Moved by Rusk; 2nd by Clagett to approve a LIQUOR LICENSE FOR GOOD TIME CHARLIE, DBA CHIPPEWA PINES RESORT, Melanie Mikesh, Agent; all in favor; motion carried.

The Clerk asked the Board to approve removing UNCOLLECTIBLE PERSONAL PROPERTY TAXES from the Sawyer Novis System
MOTION: Moved by Dier; 2nd by Clagett to request the Sawyer County Treasurer to remove the following UNCOLLECTIBLE PERSOAL PROPERTY TAXES including the Interest and Penalties from the tax roll:

Tax ID 446 – tax year 2021 – $40.65
Tax ID 1641 – tax year 2019 – $13.98
Tax ID 318 – tax years 2016 & 2017 – $7.45
Tax ID 351 – tax years 2019 thru 2022 – $147.70
All in favor; motion carried.

MOTION: Moved by Clagett; 2nd by Dier to approve 2 NO-WAKE BUOYS FOR TONY & LAURIE SCHUBERT in Musk Bay on the Chippewa Flowage; all in favor; motion carried.

EMPLOYEE REVIEW DATE was set for October 11, 2023 at 4:00 p.m.

BUDGET WORKSHOP DATE was set for October 17, 2023 at 9:00 a.m.
MOTION: Moved by Clagett; 2nd Dier to APPROVE PAYMENT OF DISBURSEMENTS AND PAYROLL for checks #17836 to #17855, electronic payments and account transfers from 08/10/2023 to 09/21/2023 for a total expenditure of $76,868.47; all in favor; motion carried.
