Town of Hunter

The Town of Hunter is required to have a revaluation of all properties within our Municipality for the tax year 2026.  Our new assessor, Cindy Chase, has already begun her field work.  Some of you may already have seen her.  For those of you that have not, she will be driving either a 2015 Black Jeep Patriot – Plate AKC 6433 or a 2019 Orange Polaris General – Reg 1611JG, or a black Lectric brand bicycle.
Interior inspections will produce the most uniform assessments and will be performed on all commercial properties. Inspections will occur in the early spring and throughout the summer.
Your assessor will be visiting all properties, taking photos of the exterior of all buildings, front and back and waterfront lots.
More information will be mailed out after the first of the year regarding the revaluation process.
Please note that this will NOT affect your 2025 tax bill, but the changes in value will be reflected on your 2026 tax bill.
This revaluation is not being done to collect more property taxes, but it is done to ensure uniform assessments and maintain compliance with Wisconsin Statutes.
