SPECIAL MEETING – June 13, 2018

A Special Meeting was called to order by Chairperson Rusk at 4:50 p.m. Present were Laura Rusk, Kay Ryan, Jim Dier, Patty Swaffield, Cindy Gutsch.

The Assessor, Doug Kurtzweil, reported the Assessment roll will be printed soon and is ready for Board of Review.  Open book date was set for July 7, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to noon.  Board of Review date was set for July 18, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The meeting ended at 4:55 p.m.

Chair Laura Rusk called the Board of Supervisors meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.; present were Laura Rusk, Kay Ryan, Jim Dier, Patty Swaffield and Cindy Gutsch.

The minutes of the May 9, 2018 Board meeting were approved as presented by Kay Ryan; 2nd Jim, Dier; motion carried.

The Treasures report was approved as presented by Jim Dier; 2nd Kay Ryan; motion carried.

ROAD REPORT – there has been several complaints regarding the condition of Hemlock Haven Road.  The Board discussed possibly turning our .78 miles of that road over to the Town of Winter who maintains this road during the spring, summer and fall months.  We will look into having them plow during the winter as well.  We will also install 25 MPH Speed Limit and Rough Road signs on the Town of Hunter portion of road..

There is a spot on Kelsey Road that people park on for access to the Chippewa Flowage for snowmobiling.  No Parking signs will be installed in that area.

Flowage Road work is to start 6/18/18.  Laura met with engineers and LCO Development foreman.  The road could be closed up to 6 days during construction period.

Randy Dennis sent a bid to gravel portions of Woodland Drive before Monarch pulverizes.  The work on Woodland Drive may start by the end of July.

ZONING – Sawyer County Zoning submitted a new draft to the Metallic Mineral ordinance that was approved on a motion from Jim Dier; 2nd Kay Ryan; motion carried.

LIQUOR LICENSE RENEWALS for the period of July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019 were approved on a motion from Laura Rusk; 2nd Jim Dier; motion carried.

BARTENDER LICENSES for the period of July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019 were approved, with the exception of one that needs to take the Servers class, on a motion from Laura Rusk; 2nd Jim Dier; motion carried.

ORDINANCE NO. 2000-01 APPOINT ALTERNATE MEMBERS FOR BOARD OF REVIEW was rescinded on a motion from Kay Ryan; 2nd Jim Dier; motion carried.  The Ordinance was replaced with 2018-02.

ORDINANCE NO. 2018-02 to APPOINT LINDA TRELAND AS ALTERNATE MEMBER FOR BOARD OF REVIEW was approved on a motion from Kay Ryan; 2nd Jim Dier; motion carried.

Jim Dier made a motion to APPROVE PAYMENT OF DISBURSEMENTS AND PAYROLL for checks #16566 to #16580 & electronic payments from 05/10/2018 to 06/13/2018 for a total expenditure of $15,574.41; 2nd Laura Rusk; motion carried.

The Chair called a moment of silence for the passing of Leonard Eckerly.

The Chair ended the meeting at 6:05 p.m.
