MONTHLY BOARD MEETING – July 13, 2016

Chair Laura Rusk called the Board of Supervisors meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.; all members except Jim Dier present.  The minutes of the June 8, 2016 Board meeting were approved as presented by Kay Ryan; 2nd Laura Rusk; motion carried.

The Treasures report was approved as presented by Kay Ryan; 2nd Laura Rusk; motion carried

ROAD REPORT – continuing to fill shoulders with gravel where needed.  Cut up trees and cleared debris off the roads from multiple storms.  Been in contact with Sawyer County about the laying of asphalt on River Road.  Started mowing town roads with the tractor.

Sawyer County Highway Department gave us a bid for a wedge patch on River Road just past the second Fiorelli Road sign and do a full 310’ overlay in the amount of $9,267.14.

A motion was made by Kay Ryan with a 2nd from Laura to approve BARTENDER LICENSES Jeffrey Skille, Linda Miller, Jordan Irvin, Brian Larson, Erin Lillyroot, Julie Jennings, Adam O’Toole and Paula Bush contingent that Lillyroot, Jennings, O’Toole and Bush have a clear background check; motion carried.

NO ATV SIGNS FOR DUN ROVIN ROAD have not been put up the last few years.  Kay Ryan asked that one sign be put up at the intersection of Dun Rovin and County Road B.

Steve Verdon asked if the Town would install a DEAD END SIGN at the beginning of BUCKHORN ROAD.  This request was approved on a motion from Kay Ryan; 2nd Laura Rusk; motion carried.

The current BUDGET VS ACTUAL figures were discussed.  In light of some income we will not be getting this year, it was decided not to use the 2008 Ford Truck sale income at this time.  We will know more how things stand during our budget workshop in October.

RURAL INSURANCE submitted a bid to include all items currently insured with the Local Government Property Insurance Fund which is the off road equipment, the buildings and all inventory.  The Clerk was advised that the Government Property Insurance Fund will not be eliminated at this time and we will stay with that company for now.

The Wisconsin Towns Association has started a Just Fix It campaign to get the State of Wisconsin to increase transportation funding to help fix our roads.  Each Town was asked to send pictures of bad roads to our legislators to get this program working.  The WTA also requested that each Town send a Resolution to the State Legislators and Governor Scott Walker asking for more funding.     RESOLUTION NO. 2016-01 JUST FIX IT was approve on a motion from Kay Ryan; 2nd Laura Rusk; motion carried.

Kay Ryan made a motion to APPROVE PAYMENT OF BILLS AND PAYROLL for checks #16157 to #16173 & electronic payments from 06/09/2016 to 07/13/2016 for a total expenditure of $14,112.17; 2nd Laura; motion carried.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:10 p.m. on a motion from Kay Ryan; 2nd Laura; motion carried.
